The American education system. To me, one of the most messed up systems we've got going for us here. There are many factors that have led me to this conclusion; but the one that irks me the most is money.
Money. Mulah. Cash. Plastic. Paper. Coins. Life.
We are so consumed with the idea of having loads of money that it seems to be our only goal in life: to become rich. But what about the things that actually matter? Being educated, being happy, being YOU.
As today's society we think the key to a happy and perfect life is money. And how does one acquire that? Either you've gotta be extraordinary at something or be smart and go to college to get a degree that pays well. Most of us end up choosing option B.
University. A system where you pay thousands of dollars to get a degree, only to get a job where you pay off your student loans for the rest of your life. So you're basically saying that we got to college just so we can get a job to pay off thousands of loans? Sounds pretty accurate and logical.
Ha sike.
It just seems so crazy to me that as young adults we spend so much money just to get a degree, only to use that degree to pay it off until we retire. We spend on average of 17 years in formal education only to become smarter humans in society. But where does it get us? To me we don't get anywhere.
